about the firefly
Firefly is a funky little bistro right in the heart of "Boystown". After opening in ‘02 it quickly became a neighborhood favorite. The regular customers and staff are known to be fun & eclectic. The bar sits on the corner of Buckingham and N Halsted with huge panoramic windows (employees know them as the fish tank windows). Sitting at the bar is a great place to experience Pride Fest, Market Days or just simply watch the always interesting world go by.
The room provides a cozy, intimate feel with its red walls and curtained booths. Many have used ‘the fly’ as a first date restaurant. Firefly’s menu mingles comfort food with a French touch. Whether looking for snacks and cocktails (don’t miss our infamous 10oz. Martinis) or a full dinner experience the menu achieves its goal - aim to please. The philosophy is simple and easily delivered by an eccentric, experienced staff.
